The Rundown: Three stories explore the unique worlds created by Jim Henson
Fraggle Rock: Beauty is in the Pie of the Beholder
The Fraggles prepare for their annual celebration and Boober prepares to create his signature Radish Onion Pie for everyone. A dish that his fellow Fraggles find inedible, but don’t want to hurt their friend’s feelings by telling him. In order to find a way to salvage the desert, the Fraggles decide to pitch in and help, but their sneaky plan will yield some unexpected results.
A fun, funny and sweet story with some interesting and entertaining life lessons and colorful, visually engaging art throughout.
Farscape: Last One There’s a Rotten Food Cube
In the middle of a long trip, the crew of Moya find themselves bored and Aeryn decides to shake things up by challenging Crichton to a race in their respective ships around Moya. A race that the rest of the crew use as a means of indulging in their competitive natures with a series of bets on who will win.
A fun and entertaining day in the life story of the crew of the Moya that teases some of the deeper relationships at work among the characters. The art style is beautiful and I would love to see more Farscape stories in the future based on this story.
The Dark Crystal: The Heretic and the Wanderer
Skekgra, known as The Conqueror, leads his Gelfling troops into battle to defend Thra. When he discovers that a local leader has twin daughters, he immediately takes them back to the castle of the crystal under the pretense that they will be his guards. He tells the scientist that he has procured test subjects for him, but his time with the Gelfling girls changes him and his resolve will be tested when the scientist comes to collect one of the girls for his experiments.
An engaging and compelling story that adds layers of complexity to the characters while also delivering on the beauty of the world of the Dark Crystal.
